Ted McDavitt

Vice President – Construction

Ted McDavitt brings over 20 years of expertise in project management and leadership, with a career spanning key roles in construction management, project management, and corporate administration. As Vice President of Construction at VoltaGrid, he draws upon a deep and diverse background across sectors including power generation, utility transmission and distribution, interstate natural gas pipelines, petrochemical refining, crude oil transportation and storage, and hydrogen production with cryogenic liquefaction. This broad industry exposure has shaped Ted’s disciplined approach to safety, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement, contributing to the successful delivery of more than 55 major capital projects.

Ted began his career with leading consulting firms including Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Jacobs Engineering Group, and Gulf Interstate Engineering Company, where he developed a strong foundation in engineering and project execution. He later advanced into senior leadership roles within prominent owner/operator organizations such as TC Energy, Nikola Motors, and Plug Power, where he directed large-scale growth initiatives exceeding $4.5 billion in total capital investment. Throughout his career, Ted has led multidisciplinary teams across project management, quality assurance, construction management, and commissioning, with oversight of complex project portfolios in North America.

Ted holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management with honors from Louisiana State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) through the Project Management Institute, and has earned the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®) designation from the International Risk Management Institute.
